Invoices and VAT on membership

Your monthly membership fee is a platform-service fee. It comes from VOD-Records (Frank Bull, 88045 Friedrichshafen, Germany, VAT-ID DE232493058) and is invoiced via the platform.

What you get every month

A PDF invoice in your account billing page (/account/billing), and a copy by email. The invoice shows:

  • Invoice number and date
  • Period covered
  • Membership tier and price
  • VAT rate and amount (German VAT)
  • Total
  • Our VAT-ID (DE232493058) and address
  • Your name and address as supplied in account settings

VAT — how it works

  • You are a private customer (consumer) in Germany or another EU country: German VAT (19 %) is charged on the gross price shown. You cannot reclaim it.
  • You are a business customer (B2B) in another EU country with a valid VAT-ID: the reverse-charge mechanism applies. We invoice without German VAT; you account for VAT in your own country. Your VAT-ID must be entered in account settings and we verify it against the EU VIES system.
  • You are outside the EU: no German VAT charged. Your country's tax rules apply.

Payment method

Membership is billed monthly via your registered payment method (card or SEPA direct debit, depending on what you chose at sign-up). You can change this at any time from /account/billing.

Failed payments

If a charge fails, we retry up to three times over a week. We email you at each attempt. After three failures, your tier drops to Browse and your listings (if you were on Seller) are paused — not deleted. You can fix payment and resume.

Refunds

Membership fees are not refunded for partial months. If you cancel, your tier stays active until the end of the period; the current period is not refunded.

Tax-deductible?

Whether the membership fee is a tax-deductible business expense for you depends on your specific business situation. Many sellers treat it as a deductible operating cost for their sales activity. We can't give you tax advice — talk to a Steuerberater.

Need an invoice change?

If your billing name or address changed, edit /account/settings. New invoices will use the updated details. For corrections on past invoices, email support@vod-auctions.com with the invoice number and the change requested.
