How membership works

VOD Auctions uses a membership model instead of per-sale commissions. The tiers are designed so you only pay for what you actually use.

The four tiers

• Browse — Free. Any registered account. Search the catalog, save listings to a watchlist, see prices. You cannot bid, buy or sell from this tier.
• Buy — €3/month. Adds buying. Place bids, buy listed items at fixed prices, message sellers, request items in order intent mode.
• Seller — €8/month. Includes everything in Buy, plus selling: up to 10 listings per year.
• Seller Pro — €14/month. Same as Seller, with 20 listings per year.

Higher tiers include the rights of lower tiers. If you have Seller, you do not need a separate Buy subscription to buy.

Why we do it this way

A platform that takes 8–13 % of every sale ends up charging the buyer twice: once via a buyer fee and once invisibly, because sellers price the commission into the number you see. We chose membership so that the price on the listing is the price you pay.

This works because our seller base is small and curated. We do not need the listing volume that a percentage-based fee subsidises.

When to pick which tier

• You are not sure yet. Stay on Browse. There is no cost and no commitment.
• You want to bid on auction blocks or grab a fixed-price item. Buy is enough.
• You want to sell up to 10 records a year. Seller.
• You sell more actively. Seller Pro.
